One of
the basic elements of tourism promotion is direct marketing, a
mechanism used to support the sale of the country’s products and
destination to potential tourists, travel agents and planners of
congresses, conventions and incentive travel. The basic tools of
direct marketing are: toll-free telephone numbers for tourist
information, Internet, fax, e-mail, distribution of pamphlets, and
marketing aimed at specialized segments. These services are provided
at an international level only.
